While we may not be expecting quite these temps, it feels like it to us as Floridians! If it isn’t beach weather, it’s not okay.

We aren’t the only ones that feel the sting of the harsh winter air though. Our homes are subject to the freeze too. So what can you do?

First and foremost, be sure to bring any pets inside. Then take a look at any plants you may have. If they cannot be moved, make sure to wrap them up to keep them warm! This goes for any exposed pipes too. Think your water spigots! You can get kits from your local hardware store or even DIY something to get you through. For your internal plumbing, the best thing you can do is leave some water dripping. Find a central tap, such as in your bathroom, and leave a tiny dribble going through the night. Even something so simple can prevent your pipes from bursting!

Backtracking a little, make sure you know where your water shut off valve is located. If something were to happen, you want to make sure you can get that water turned off as quickly as possible, as to not create further damage.
